OOOOHHHH, hOW DO WE GET 'bEST aNSWER' notes on our post ????.....

Please tell.......

OK, I hit https://www.lfs.net/dx9 and that gave me https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/confirmation.aspx?id=8109

With Chrome that then automatically downloaded to my /MINE/Downloads folder, from which it installed with no problem.

Clearly this issue is now resolved, if not, go to this link and you should have DX9..........

Meanwhile, back in 2015......

"In a chat with Microsoft, a spokesperson explained that with these significant GPU efficiency gains, coupled with the reduction of CPU overhead, they expect the majority of DirectX 12 games to benefit from up to a 20% framerate boost over DirectX 11. After running these tests myself, I’m inclined to agree.

In fact, maybe they’re being conservative.

But remember, this doesn’t mean you should go buy a cheaper graphics card when DX12 rolls around. “This extra performance means that the game can run at increased visual quality for any given graphics card, and we want gamers to have better experiences on DX12 games than they’ve ever seen,” a Microsoft spokesperson said. “Also, though the industry is giving every indication of an unprecedented DX12 adoption, games will need to be written for DX12 to benefit from DX12, and we want to ensure that gamers have a great experience on the hundreds of DX11 games already in the market.”

Plus, as we’ve seen, DX12 is capable of extracting more performance out of even the highest-end hardware, which is great news for everyone on the playing field.

All this being said, I probably sound like a broken record but we should never render a definitive conclusion based on synthetic tests alone. It will take comparisons of actual games running on mature drivers to really render a verdict, and we won’t start seeing them until late 2015. But to say I’m enthusiastic would be an understatement."

Main board ???
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/short-circuit-g27-motherboard-help-urgent-need-new-motherboard.290528/

After re-reading your post, and my link above I'd suggest you do the the following, possibly again Frown

Turn everything off, check ALL of the wiring. If you run a wire under the pedal spikes then that will not be a good thing.
Then Re-Check ALL the wiring carefully again, no nicks or anything.

Restart the pc with just the wheel and pedals plugged in, that, according to your post worked.

Re check the wiring for the shifter.

Turn everything off, plug in the shifter and re test.

Ensure the shifter is plugged into th wheel properly.

Then post back with where that test failed !

Also, this thread...

No, no it doesn't because terrorist's all drive Toyota Hilux's, not VW's, that even LFS can't get working (sorry) .....

"I needed four wheels and a seat. And a boot for all the presents. And all that I could get my hands on in the time available was the Scirocco diesel.

It still doesn’t look right and it still makes all the wrong noises when you start the engine, and there’s no getting round the fact that you are driving a car based on the Golf Mk 6, not the current and much better Mk 7. Oh, and you can’t see anything out of the rear-view mirror. And what’s this? Yes. It’s stalled.

It stalls a lot. Doubtless for reasons that have a lot to do with the polar bear, this diesel engine needs a bootful of revs before you can even think about setting off. And then, when you do, you think something is broken because there simply isn’t enough oomph.

On top of the dashboard are three dials in a raised binnacle. They tell you nothing you need to know but they look good. They look sporty. They tell you that you are a man in a hurry, but here’s hoping you aren’t, because this is not a fast car.

And the gearing’s weird. Time and again when cruising along the motorway I’d try to change up from sixth. And third is so high that in town it’s never really an option. Probably the polar bears again."

https://www.lfs.net/forum/thread/87780-black-screen-on-load-up

Quote from Racer X NZ :When you say " I open Lfs for a second time it just shows a black screen.", does that mean opening it again with another running session ?

Or, does it mean that you changed the graphics to a setting your monitor doesn't support and it shows a black screen after LFS is restarted. ?

If it's the second issue, try this...

"If, for any reason, LFS ends up on the Rift in 2D mode or with a black screen, you can get it back like this :
Method 1
Press ALT+F4 to exit LFS
Delete the file "card_cfg.txt" in your LFS folder, so LFS starts up on the primary device (usually your monitor)"
http://www.vrcircle.com/post/how-to-setup-and-configure-live-for-speed-on-the-oculus-rift

My reply to a later question.

This is usually caused by selecting a LFS video setting that your PC can't handle, usually... Smile

TBH, a simple search does suggest that Bandicam is awesome for game recording...

" Bandicam has most of the tools and settings we look for in the best game recording software and it doesn't put a large strain on your computer. This game recorder can handle recordings of up to 120 frames per second (fps), which is the highest frame rate cap you're likely to get with game capture software."

The facts do come in after this bit but still.............

"When we saved recordings during gameplay, we found that Bandicam generated noticeable lag. For a second, the game's frame would seize up, and when it resumed, our character was in a different place and situation. This could very well be due to our setup and the settings we used; however, we used the same setup and settings to compare all of the products on our lineup."

It does however seem to be very popular at xvideos.lama.

Arrrghhh, just checked that 'joke' link...

It is a case of dying doing what you love, check this out for a real case in point.
Denis Clive "Denny" Hulme, OBE (18 June 1936 – 4 October 1992) was a New Zealand racing driver who won the 1967 Formula One World Drivers' Championship for the Brabham team. Between his debut at Monaco in 1965 and his final race in the 1974 US Grand Prix, he started 112 Grand Prix, resulting eight victories and 33 trips to the podium. He also finished third in the overall standing in 1968 and 1972.

A favourite event of Hulme's was the Bathurst 1000, held at the famous Mount Panorama track in Australia. In the 1992 event he was driving a semi-works supported BMW M3 for the Benson & Hedges Racing when after complaining over the car-to-pits radio of blurred vision (originally thought to be because of the heavy rain) Hulme suffered a massive heart attack at the wheel whilst driving along the high-speed Conrod Straight. After veering into the wall on the left side of the track at about 140 mph (230 km/h),[15] he managed to bring the car to a relatively controlled stop sliding against the safety railing and concrete wall on the right side of the track. When marshals reached the scene they found Hulme still strapped in. He was taken from the car straight to Bathurst Hospital where he was officially pronounced dead.

Last words from another Kiwi great...

Bruce McLaren died (aged 32) when his Can-Am car crashed on the Lavant straight just before Woodcote corner at Goodwood Circuit in England on 2 June 1970. He had been testing his new M8D when the rear bodywork came adrift at speed. The loss of aerodynamic downforce destabilized the car, which spun, left the track, and hit a bunker used as a flag station.

Motorsport author Eoin Young said that Bruce McLaren had "virtually penned his own epitaph" in his 1964 book From the Cockpit. Referring to the death of team-mate Timmy Mayer, McLaren had written:

The news that he had died instantly was a terrible shock to all of us, but who is to say that he had not seen more, done more and learned more in his few years than many people do in a lifetime? To do something well is so worthwhile that to die trying to do it better cannot be foolhardy. It would be a waste of life to do nothing with one's ability, for I feel that life is measured in achievement, not in years alone.

I really feel sorry for you guys, bike racing here is big. My little hometown (30,000) has had a street race for over 50 years.

Here's a certain Guy Martin winning last year on a Norton 500.

(We even let him ride a Britten while he was here, on my local race track..)

But, he wasn't good enough to win here on the modern bikes. Here's our national TV coverage.

If you race bikes this is a 'must watch', lots of onboard, great camera work & the best NZ racers. Plus some overseas guys....

The next day we have this !

"Kiwi Scott Dixon captured a fourth IndyCar championship by winning the season finale to snatch the title from Juan Pablo Montoya.

Montoya led the points from the season-opening race right until the final lap Sunday. But he finished the race in sixth, which allowed Dixon to tie him in the standings.

Dixon was awarded the title based on wins; Sonoma Raceway was his third victory, while Montoya had only two. The New Zealand driver entered the race third in the standings, 47 points behind Montoya. The race was worth double points."
http://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=11505619

“We knew at the start of the weekend the title was still a chance and that’s what we were hoping for,” said an elated Dixon.
“This is fantastic. I don’t know what to say. “Thoughts and prayers first to Justin Wilson’s family.
“We were such a long shot to win it, and we won it on countback. I can’t believe it.”

Well done Scott, 4th Indy Championship and I'd love to see Montoya's face ! He's such a gracious loser.

“Dixon had a shit season all year and had one good race, and we paid the penalty,” Montoya said, bluntly, in his post-race press conference.

Here, have a tissue. And perhaps if you hadn't chosen to hit your teammate you may have won !

If you want a good video card just watch auction sites, the GTX 650 sells here from NZD 200+. (84 poundings)

I've just aquired a Gigabyte GTX 580 for $110 (46.2 poundings). ( NZ $ Price new, $700+)
Make sure it comes with a warranty and it's from somewhere legit in the trade and thats by far the best choice.

Still good enough to beat current midranged cards Smile
